Red Sox blank Blue Jays 6-0

Wow! What a game you saw last night if you had cheap Red Sox baseball tickets, when Jon Lester threw a no hitter for the WIN_TEAM!! Congratulations to Lester as well as the Red Sox for an incredible accomplishment. You never know what you will see at a baseball game and if you were at Fenway Park yesterday you’ll have a story to tell for the rest of your life! Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester (3.06 ERA) got the win, while Shaun Marcum (3.77 ERA) took the loss for the Blue Jays. Jon Lester went 7 solid innings for the Red Sox, allowed 4 hits, no home runs and no earned runs with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Red Sox was Scott Atchison (3.49), and Robert Coello (6.23). The Blue Jays’s starter Shaun Marcum went 5.1 innings, allowed 9 hits, 2 home runs and 6 earned runs with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Brad Mills (5.40), and Taylor Buchholz (4.09) also pitched for the Blue Jays. With the win, Lester’s record goes to 18-8, while Marcum is at 12-8.

In addition to the 6 runs, the Red Sox scored 9 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Red Sox, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Ryan Kalish had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Blue Jays didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Jose Bautista could not get much going at the plate as he left 6 runners on base. The Blue Jays scored no runs, 5 hits and one error.

Umpiring duties were performed by Greg Gibson, Brian Knight, Gerry Davis and Sam Holbrook. There were 37,234 Red Sox ticket holders in attendance at Fenway Park.
